In a year that was difficult for employers and employees alike, Jerry’s Foods had something to celebrate on February 25th, the Placement Partner’s Employer of the Year award. This award recognizes an employer in the community who has supported our clients in their employment goals. The vocational staff at Placement Partners nominates employers whom they believe have provided an outstanding workplace for their clients. This culminates in a final vote to name the year’s winner. Jerry’s Foods has been nominated quite a few times in the past but received their first award this year, which they excitedly shared on their social media channels. In a year where everyone was recognizing how important grocery workers are, it was a suitable time to award Jerry’s Foods.
Jerry’s Foods went above and beyond in this difficult year by making sure employees felt safe. Employees were allowed to take leaves of absence for as long as they liked during the pandemic and were welcomed back to full employment when they were ready to return. Even before COVID-19 when employees had personal emergencies, Jerry’s Foods was amiable to having employees come back from leave when they were ready and willing to resume work.
The award ceremony was a success despite having to take necessary COVID-19 precautions. Jerry’s Foods ensures that employees aren’t closer than 6 feet for more than 10 minutes, surpassing the CDC guidelines to be safe. Some of our clients who were not on shift at the time came in to Jerry’s Foods for the celebration. All the management staff and employees gathered to celebrate the award. We thank Jerry’s Foods for helping to contribute to our client’s success and wish them the best of luck in the future!
