Since 2013, Placement Partners has hosted an annual Career Fair exclusively for our Program Participants looking to network with employers for potential employment opportunities. We strive to help eliminate biases and create pathways for people with disabilities who are often an overlooked population for employment. The Institute for Corporate Productivity and Best Buddies International reported in 2019 that 81 percent of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities remain unemployed; therefore, illustrating an untapped pool of potential talents. Furthermore, a study published by Accenture in 2018 shows that employees with disabilities offer benefits such as increased innovation, improved productivity, and being part of having a better work environment. Plus workers are consumers too!
